Lyrics
V1
I’ve seen the light
And I’ve seen an angel
Up from the ashes
I saw her rise
And I’ve seen life
And I’ve love
I’ve seen it black and white
Right Before My Eyes
Chorus
I Saw It Right Before My Eyes
I Saw It Right Before My Eyes
I Saw It Right Before My Eyes
I Saw It Right Before My Eyes
V2
And I’ve seen pain
And I’ve seen violence
A man with glass in his face
Then I realised
Blood on the ceiling
blood on the floor
I saw him dying
Right Before My Eyes
Chorus x 2
Blurb:
It just occured to me one day all the bizzarre things we see: “blood on the ceiling” was a gig we did on the Welly road in Northampton – We were just a bout to start our first number and a guy right in front of us got a glass shoved in his throat – blood spurt out and up – straight to the ceiling – and this was a victorian ceiling. Not sure what the venue was called – there was one along that road that was a converted public toilet! Anyway – the list of bizzarre things I’d seen grew and so there were enough lyrics for a song. We always used to count to song in “1,2,3,4,5” for Gary (muscles Gary) – our drummer as the song had an anacrusis (lead-in bar). I loved singing this song although it was a strain and diffiicult to get the semitone in the singing on pitch (which you can hear in the song – sorry – you won’t be able to un-hear it now!) This was a head-down hard-rock song.
