Lyrics:
I was searching for my heart’s desire
Stumbling through minefields of the past
At the start you were so beautiful
I should have known something so good would never last
Religiously I’s scrolling through my phone
And then a memory caught my eye
Although we had no similarities, I think that we
Should try, I would be
Flying, flying, flying, flying, to you
Put my Levi’s on we hit the town
Blue lights caught us on the ricochet
Felt so right but had no common ground
Didn’t know that a storm was on the way
promises of fairytales and brides
Our families on e-either si-ide
Don’t worry bout the things that will go wrong
I think that we know why, I will be
Flying, I think that I might be in love
Flying, and its you im thinking of
Flying, flying, to you
Laid the flowers out beneath the sign
Blame myself through the pictures in my mind
Hope that someday we could recombine
Take the pills and it gets easier over time
Why don’t I put on my blue jeans again
Get an uber take us there this time
Let’s go and see that band we saw last time
And maybe we, will rise, and we’ll be
Flying, and we’re just taking off
Flying, and I’m not gonna stop
flying, flying, to you
Flying, I think that I might be in love
Flying, and its you im thinking of
Flying, flying, to you
Flying, and we’re just taking off
Flying, and I’m not gonna stop
flying, flying, to you

“F***ing Flyin” chorus came from riding bike between Newton Blossomville and Olney (famous for that song). Short chord sequence was born in the name of ballance (looong chorus in Major key vs short sequence in relative minor key) medium length relative minor sequence created in auto-pilot by brain whilst transferring verse ideas to Cubase.
Tried a few bass lies but went with the feel of the Creep-esque one with added deep 5ths – nice.
Knew I wanted a tremolo sound like “Boulevard” but with a narrow band of increasing frequencies to emulate height changes in flying.
The BV’s came shortly after the chorus – sounds a bit corny and boy-band-esque but went with it anyway.
The “Flying” chorus came to me on a bike ride (my favourite way to exercise) – I think the wind must have been behind me!
The guitar sound came from my head – I just had to figure out how to make it. I did it in the end with distortion, tremolo and wah-wah.
The words initially came from when I used to drive to my girlfriend’s (now wife) house – I was in a dream-world (as I am most the time).
The sad verse came from the death of my brother.
Whilst recording, the response part of the “call and response” became to hook.
I’m shamefully marketing it as a Christmas song – thinking of Santa flying in his sleigh delivering presents and then flying home to mrs Santa

Verse 1 work
Set the scene: looking for a partner to spend the rest of my life with – can be hard. So many beautiful people but what are they really like inside? Are they shallow – just trying to look good above of all else? When is it too late to find a partner? It’s too hard – there’s so much complexity in people – how’s it possible to find a match? Go online but are they honest – even to themselves?
Soul-mate
What starts out to be so promising always seems to turn into disaster.it’s so hard to locate what I’m yearning
It takes so long to learn what people are really like. Suitors seem to be great to start with the the differences eventually take over
Always starting out so positive,
nothing in common/matching but we have chemistry
I wondered if you feel the same as me
And Should we give it a try
We were talking all the while
Felt a connection – chemistry
Something in that my-ster-i- ous smile got me high
Pointlessly scrolling.
Photo of you. Reminded me of that time
Go thru senses.
We had nothing in common (near start of verse)
Bridge:(dark / rap)

Positive we brought into the world/ expectantly we stepped into the breach,
Show / metaphore / senses/ good last word
Verse 2
Got married
Everything good
Live life every day coz you never know when it’s gonna go wrong (end of verse) theres a storm coming
got dressed up & saw the city lights, blue lights pulled us over on the way
talked until the sunrise what a night
We got married everything was good even though we knew a storm on the way
bridal gown broken downpulled us over on the way,/ carriageway disarray ricochet
Got some new drugs to take –
Red bills
Got laid off / p45
So much loss
Run out of money
Coming home with letters in my hand / bottom line / firing line /
